Have you ever seen a typical Filipino household? I mean at a microscopic level. A typical household were the husband earning more than her wife. And a wife, working below what the husband is earning. OR, if the wife is a housewife, she should take care of the children, keep the house immaculately clean, do the laundry etc...
But what if the wife is the working body of the family, I mean, the moneygathering hard working mommy of three daughters, is it right for the father of her children sleep all day, strum his guitar, watch TV while the wifey is away at work? Not to mention that they are living in his wife's ancestral home? Their husbands should at least do some housekeeping, right?
That's what happened to my poor sister who is not lucky enough to find herself a good husband. She works all day from eight to eight, sometimes get herself a teaching job just to put food on the table and buy some decent clothes to her three daughters and give her children some good education. At the same time, her good-for-nothing husband sleeps all day and God knows whatelse he does, maybe scratching his crotch during his awake moments. Lazy is not the word, it may be an insult to Juan. Well his name is Pedro, maybe his parents were mistaken and that it should be Juan, as in Juan Tamad.
Whenever you tell him to go find work or ask about why he is not working, he could rationalize his situations and find reasons why he wont work... His always reply is... tadaaaaa... "God always provides! " always his answer. Its the a reasoning of really, really lazy, loser, indolent, lethargic, sloth person, what do you think?
